We are looking for a hands-on DBA who is very proficient with MySql deployments in a LAMP environment. You are not only a good DBA, but also have sound knowledge of algorithms and data structures. You must be able to communicate well and have a strongly analytical mind.

Prior DBA experience at a medium scale MySQL installation is essential. The position is based in Sunnyvale, CA, and will initially report to the VP of Engineering.

• Maintainance and tuning MySQL databases in development and production
• Design, implementation, and tuning of archival/backup strategies
• SQL planning, design and optimization
• Inefficiency spotting (both in queries and stored procedures)
• Writing of support scripts in Perl/Php/Ruby/Python
• Occasional design of new schemas

• Bachelor's/Masters degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 2+ years experience as a DBA
• 1+ years of MySQL DBA experience preferred
• Expertise and mindset for performance tuning
• 3+ years of deep experience with Linux
