33Across is developing cutting-edge social network visualization and analysis tools. We are looking for an expert Front-end engineer to join the User Interface team. You must have 2+ years of experience in working on web-based JavaScript rich applications. You must be very fluent in HTML, CSS, JS (with Ajax) have a deep knowledge of the DOM and be willing to learn new skills as required. You should also have a strong CS foundation in algorithms and data structures.

The position is based in either the Bay Area of San Francisco or New York City and will initially report to the VP of Engineering.

• Design, implementation and maintenance (as part of a team) of
  • Elegant, Efficient and Effective Web applications
  • JavaScript components to support back-end components on occasion
• Interfacing with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
• Debugging in a team environment
• Brainstorming algorithms and spotting inefficiencies

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience preferred
• 2+ years experience as a front-end programmer in a team environment
• Some familiarity with PHP desirable
• Basic familiarity with Linux/Apache
• Working knowledge of MySql
• Sound knowledge of Algorithms, Data Structures and Complexity analysis
